The Wall Street Journal reports on a research note from Credit Suisse analyst Bill Shope. Based on a meeting with Apple executive, saying that they are looking into future price cuts of the iPad if demand is not as expected.

This to me seems like a self fulling prophecy. Now that we are aware of a potential price drop, it will make the consumers less likely to run out and buy one. Perhaps Apple is willing to give credit to initial buyers much in the same way the did for the iPhone.

A Number of Norwegian resellers had to stop their pre-orders of the Apple iPad. They are quoted as saying there was "crazy interest", which led to the stop of the orders.

It is believed that the site took thousands of advanced orders for the iPad. Apparently the most order were for the more expensive 64GB 3G model.

Pre-orders have not begun in North America, seeing how Apples market is much larger in North America it could mean similar sellouts may occur when the orders start.

This is the first gauge of how popular the iPad may be on launch, at least with the Norwegian people.

Hutchison Austria is going to be offering a discounted iPad for customers who are willing to sign a 2 year data plan contract. The monthly rate of this plan is €29.90, which allows for 5GB. This plan will reduce the cost of the iPad by €333. There has been no mention of the cost of the iPad in Europe, so the saving has yet to be determined.

It seems they are going to be offering this with the first release of the iPad (non 3G models), but will include a Huawei i-Mo 3G modem.

I just read an interesting article from Wired. It seems the micro SIM has no advantages over a normal SIM, other then size.

Now why would something as big as the iPad need a Micro sim, when the smaller iPhone does not? Micro SIM's up until now have only been used for especially smaller phones that do require the space savings. Wired speculates that the reason behind this may be to force users to get another SIM and therefore two accounts with their wireless provider. If the iPad had used a normal SIM, users would be able to easily swap their SIMs between devices.

The article goes on to say, that a normal SIM can be trimmed to the dimensions of a micro, and would fit into the iPad. So I would expect a template for trimming as well as a micro adapter for the iPhone to be available soon. Will keep you posted.
